Saturday, June 7th 10am-1pm

Keith Atwater, long-time ARC member and retired college professor, will lead a local history and heritage walk (driving between stops) to the Bayley House in Pilot Hill, Greenwood’s historic cemetery and former school and town sites, and Georgetown’s historic cemetery. We’ll finish our tour with a short, level hike through the Georgetown Nature Area, stopping to study a monument to the important local 19th Century Miwok chief Coppa Hombo, explore evidence of an old gold mine, and enjoy diverse native and introduced trees, shrubs, and flowers. Responsible 11-year-olds+ welcome. Well-behaved dog on-leash OK. Meeting location Pilot Hill area. Suggested Donation: $5/members, $10/non-members.
